Sako L61R Finnbear .270 Win, Bofors
This early Bofors Steel Sako Finnbear dates to January of 1965 and appears to be all original, right down to the fixed sling swivels. It exhibits the early "s" shaped floorplate release and the square tang on the floorplate. Of course, it has the three lug bolt, open-centered crossbolt nut correct for this period, the plastic grip cap set off with a white spacer, and the stock and barrel are more slender than the post-1968 models. Like many from this period, the recoil pad shows some crush at the heel, but is still pliable and usable as is. The stock is around 90%, showing only some scratches from honest use, no abuse. The metal is very nice for its age. Magazine hold five rounds down, while the barrel is 24.4" long. An unaltered example of the increasingly scarce "pre-Garcia Bofors Steel" Finnbear. C&R Eligible.
