Sako L46 .222 "Riihimaki"
Here is a really nice Sako L46 in .222 Remington (sometimes called the "Riihimaki" model for the name of the city where the Sako factory is located, which is stamped on the receiver). This fine example of an early Sako small action rifle was made in January of 1953 according to the Sako Factory inspection records. It is in exceedingly nice condition for a rifle nearing 70 years old and is original except that the sling swivels have been replaced with quick-detachable sling studs. It is also equipped with a genuine Sako removable dual range peep sight, which is about a $150 value on today's market. Barrel length is 23.6" and the detachable magazine holds three rounds down. The original wood finish is extra well-preserved, and the bluing is very good with only very minor thinning near the muzzle. C&R eligible.
