Sako L61R Finnbear .30-06
This Finnbear from the early 1970's has nearly perfect blue and bore, but the stock has been non-professionally refinished. It would make an excellent shooter as-is, or the stock could be refinished into a showpiece since it is structurally perfect with no splits or chips and exhibits some contrasting grain that would jump out with the proper stain and finish. The checkering on the forearm has been sanded off, and there is some unexplained hand lettering impressed lightly into the finish, as if some guy filled out his deer tag using the forearm as a backer. Regardless, it features a dual-range folding open rear sight, has a factory recoil pad in excellent condition, and has the original fixed sling swivels of the pre-1972 Sakos. It is available for hundreds less than a similar rifle in original condition.
