Sako L46 .222 Heavy Barrel
This is a very nice example of an L46 Heavy Barrel varminter with the later forged bottom metal rather than the stamped bottom metal of the earlier L46's. The bluing, bore, and stock are original and excellent and the stock shows some very pleasing grain and color, as well as having full wrap-around checkering on the forearm. Unlike most heavy barrel models, this came with the factory front sight, so can be used with either a scope or a removable Sako peep sight mounted on the rear dovetail. The barrel is 23.6 inches and the removable magazine holds three rounds down. Everything -- bluing, stock finish, magazine, and right down to the sling swivels appears original. The factory records show it was made in 1959, so it is eligible to ship to a Curio and Relic license holder and is in fantastic condition for a 60+ year-old rifle.
