Sako L579 Forester .308 Bofors!
The early Bofors Steel Sakos are increasingly difficult to find. They feature not only the Bofors Steel barrels, but also were built with a more slender barrel and stock profile, making them lighter and sleeker than later models. These are greatly preferred by most dedicated Sako enthusiasts. This one dates to 1964 according to the Sako Factory Records and features all of the "pre-Garcia" attributes such as grip cap, square floorplate tang, "s"-shaped magazine release, etc. Other than missing its sight hood it is all original. The LH side of the stock shows some normal bumps and dings from field use while the bluing is in overall good condition and the bore is excellent. The sporter-weight barrel is 23 inches while the magazine holds five rounds down. C&R qualified, of course.
